Hi again!
Here's the group work about Philosophy made by Livia Alves, Miguel Garofalo, Ryan Romero.
Philosophy is a way for knowledge to unfold on itself in a conceptual and abstract way.
Sometimes Philosophy respects a methodological and a scientific knowledge.
At other times, it introduces new perspectives from other thinkers and other theories.
It is a fact that Philosophy keeps alive the flame that fuels the need of searching for
knowledge without, in most cases, providing finished and preconceived answers.
Philosophy is, therefore, an area that raises questions about an issue, by answering
each question with a new question - which makes thinking permanently on the move.
The most known philosophers and their quotes:
1. Aristotle (384-322 B.C.)
The Greek Aristotle was one of the greatest names, perhaps the greatest name, in Western philosophy.
"The wise man never says everything he thinks, but always thinks everything he says." |
Regarded as the greatest Greek philosopher of antiquity, Plato was in turn a disciple of the great master Socrates.
3. Nietzsche (1844-1900)
His first interest of study was the Bible, a passion he had inherited from his father, and so he spent part of his life studying religion before broadening his horizons.
"He who wrestles with monsters must beware lest he also become a monster. When you look too long into an abyss, the abyss looks back at you." |
4. Socrates (470-399 BC)
His studies were decisive especially in the territory of logic and the philosophy of language.
5. Descartes (1596 - 1650)
Regarded as the originator of Cartesian thought, his reflections served as the basis for what we know as Modern Philosophy.
